Utowala: Part II
Ok, so this is the Utowala i was working on back a few weeks ago. Since we moved off from the topic of Animals and transitioned to plants revolving around the environment so bruskly, i thought it would only be kind enough to devote at least a little time back to the animals, to show they are not forgotten in their entirety as of yet.
As you can see, it is of course still in the '' Etch A Sketch and Magna Doodle days'' of its childhood. Though i am pleased with its development within the constraints of the tween era it has progressed to. Although it is nowhere near the final product of what it is to become, i hope in due time for it to ferment like fine wine.
It has changed a little since its original conception pictured to the left of the image, to a more muscular solid build of sorts. It will retain a lot of its weight though ( if not more ) due to it being a lot more powerfully built, so it will still keep most of its mannerisms and behavioral patterns. But is generally more aggressive than its predecessor before it which had a very passive and lazy nature, unless disturbed. Alternatively these could be two different breeds, possibly male and female breeds?as they have clear distinguishable attributes in hindsight.
Essentially this has been posted to keep all of our blogging junkie companions up to date, and to grasp a better understanding of what this animal represents by portraying its well deserved three dimensional edge in the standard two dimensions. We are now ''this much closer'' to our interactive environment.
Any questions? Thoughts so far? I implore you to think creatively outside the basis of reality and by which its terms purposly walk, to capture another angle and perspective to any of anyone's ideas here, to help improve us and adapt our perceptions which move us forward by taking a good look in all directions.

Spiekoya Mines and Presentation Progress
Presentation Day, Monday
any one who has not put their models on gonzo by 1:00pm Thursday will not have their object put in the presentation unless you email it to me
any who... progress towards William working in the game has come out of the bottomless hole and good stuff has surfaced today i tested William in the game with my own animations(idol and run) it was a success i have since refined those two and created run back, jump, fall, and side step which will require testing

Heater Complete
(apologies for it not being a rendered picture, i couldn't get the actual skin wrap for it when i tried so i just print screened it)
Twin 1 - Liam Davis
My completed model of my heater like tree with it skinned and coloured.
Description
The heater tree stands at about 5 - 7 ft tall, it has different colours to fit into the environment, the bottom with it's roots is similar to the colour of the ground and as it moves up it begins to change into a brighter colour, being blue to fit in with the coldness of the environment.
The top of the heater has a dark ring around it which is very hot and the difference in colour is almost like a warning for people to be aware of that area. The dark barrel like object around the heater acts like a coat to keep the heater warm, especially in cold days when it's needed most, without it the heater will slowly freeze and die, making it useless.
The heater can be removed from its original position and moved to another as long as its trianlgue like roots are inside the ground.
Its heat source builds up in the inside and flows out into the environment, the more heaters you have the more heat you will get.
Durri Flower
This is just a simple flower in cold place, like snow area. It looks nice (not that nice in this picture), but if you stand too close to it, its spines will spread everywhere and damage you. And its pollen is like a poison. If you get too close to it, it poisons you and makes you faint for a period of time.
When you touch it, it will eat you and hold you inside so you can't even breath.
(Sorry if my english is so good. Hehe.. I'm an international student, guys.)

Moon Tree Update
Luke Davis.
This is my Moon Flower now named Moon Tree that has been edited from the original idea. I originally had three of the plants as you can see in the concept behind the model put together, but as I worked on it I realized that it had more of a star based head than the six leaves. I decided to remove the other two plants and edit the single one and made it look more as the concept I have drawn.
Ive decided to make it a tree based object so it is bigger and contains more of the healing liquid inside the leaves. It'll stand at around 5ft tall. It has a dark brown trunk, darkish blue leaves and the circular head in the middle is a very dark blue-ish gray.

Concepts that I've been doing for the past few weeks. I've been lax with my posting since I have a habit of never showing other people things that I haven't finished because it makes people judge me and I don't want to be known as the "guy that never did things." =D
First concept was outlined by Salad Dressing and then I just turned it into a weird concept thingy. You may take inspiration from it, you never know.
Second one is another concept where we had to develop more fantasy plants and came up with this. It was inspired by a pot plant. Animals are caught by the vines that lay very still o nthe ground and when prey comes close, it snatches it up and puts it into its mouth.
Third concept is another doodle for environmental objects in alpine environment. It is a generic object that can be placed in ice caverns and whatnot.
Cross sheets is of a fern plant thingy that I have no idea what it does but I'm thinking that it'll be... food I think? "Corn" thingy can be eaten and is like a pineapple. Its juice can be used as natural preservative because of it's high acidity.
Last one is a concept of fantasy animals and it is covered in spikes with a long blunt beak. Mix between an echidna and an eagle. I call it the Eagidna. Awesome name, I know. Thanks, your praise means a lot to me, and yes, I will finish it eventually in a few days.

Friendly Tree
Don't be too judgemental. In this, my imagination was limited by my skills within 3dsmax, and since i am relatively foreign with the program, it's no wonder my design is fairly basic looking so far. I would have also liked to have given an in depth description of my tree but within the realms of 3dsmax...for now it is just safer to not go too complex! and lose track altogether.
Instead, this tree (if anything) will be more for decoration and ornamental purposes, as opposed to being an interaction with the player. I'm also pleased that although, so far the tree may not suit the environment colour-wise (which will be changed) it will make a great furture reference for my models to come.

The bowler
This is my Flesh eating Plant the bowler it is mostly submerged in the ground with a thin sheet of frozen digestive enzymes covering the top. An unsuspecting victim will walk over it and fall in, this is when several strong roots will wrap around the poor victim and hold it under while it is slowly digested.
Presentation in 2 weeks!
Okay with deadline for this presentation of the progress of Eninroth, I shall create a small demonstration of all the current features we have created using the Torque Engine.
Hopefully, the Multimedia team shall have some character/foliage/ ready to export and show off in this demo.
I would also like the programmers to have their tasks that they have completed(ish) up in the Eninroth Folder under Resources. I need it by the end of the week so i can port all of it and make some form of complete demo by the time the presentation deadline.
On a brighter note all of your work is awesome and i cant wait for it to be finished!!

Spiekoya Plant
This is a model sheet for the Spiekoya plant. Its like a landmine crossed with a spiky fruit. I got the idea from the Soncoya fruit.
It has 3 stages of development;
1; A standard spiky fruit, sits half-covered in the snow/grass like a landmine. If you step on it, it explodes and you receive blast damage.
2; Stage two is stage 1 cut in half, with the core exposed to the elements. It still sits in the snow/grass, but if you step on it, it poisons you, which damages you over a period of time. It isn't as lethal as stage 1 because it is getting ready for the next stage, and is gathering nutrients.
3; The last stage of development of a single Spiekoya. It now spreads many vines out from the core, which within a period of time, the ends of the vines grow small versions of the Stage 1 plant. This stage is the most vulnerable of the 3, and gives you a lot less poison damage if you step on it. This is because it is sending nutrients to the new spiekoya plants.

Texturing tool
Hi Guys I often if pressed for time in a project will look for a seamless texture tool to create simple repeating textures for the ground, or various terrain.
Genetica is a program that allows you to generate seamless textures for exactly that purpose.
Here
This is for tiling textures, so don't use it for models

Politikai superendus-New Plant
The Politikai superendus collects moisture and any forms of liquid from around itself, then evaporates, or boils the water or even causes sublimation upon ice left around, to create water vapor. The water vapor condenses into small droplets and ice crystals which eventually combine with billions of other droplets and crystals to form clouds and fog that shrouds the plant as a form of camouflage. The plant also releases an hallucinogenic gas which can mix with the fog and spread faster in a shorter period of time and cause you to become disoriented and distracted. People have been known to dwell peacefully for days in a hallucinatory state and lose themselves within the pale white mist, never to be seen again. Other than that, the plant is relatively harmless.
Comments?
some stuffs i am happy to donate :D
hey yall! thanks for the add.
monolithic standing stones with cave drawings, the rope is threaded through the stones and pinned with tree trunks/logs
pelts and stuffs, i cant figure out alpha channels in 3ds lel works in-game ;)
a lovely bridge
oh and the monolith stones come in seperate versions too, so they dont have to be connected. and there are many more to come as i work on my torque game/do modelling in my breaks because im such a dork that i enjoy it that much
now i AM a programmer primarily, but i love doing everything..
i have some stuff i did for a torque assignment im working on and it seemed relevant. so here you are! i give you all;
doodads.
