Spiekoya Plant

This is a model sheet for the Spiekoya plant. Its like a landmine crossed with a spiky fruit. I got the idea from the Soncoya fruit.

It has 3 stages of development;

1; A standard spiky fruit, sits half-covered in the snow/grass like a landmine. If you step on it, it explodes and you receive blast damage.

2; Stage two is stage 1 cut in half, with the core exposed to the elements. It still sits in the snow/grass, but if you step on it, it poisons you, which damages you over a period of time. It isn't as lethal as stage 1 because it is getting ready for the next stage, and is gathering nutrients.

3; The last stage of development of a single Spiekoya. It now spreads many vines out from the core, which within a period of time,the ends of the vines grow small versions of the Stage 1 plant. This stage is the most vulnerable of the 3, and gives you a lot less poison damage if you step on it. This is because it is sending nutrients to the new spiekoya plants.

This is a concept for a succulent plant. In order to keep the water flowing through it's leaves in the below-freezing temperatures of the mountains, the plants has a net of fibres that reflective ice crystals form on. These crystals produce heats by multiplying the sunlight. Excess water pools at the base of the plant, forming puddles that are very useful for mountain animals to drink from.
