nice job on Monday guys, drawing plants may not have been the most interesting of things to do but it needed doing and i think there is still more to do on that topic. completing the plants helps out our furry/scaly/feathered friends and we can also make a better range of them knowing the environment.
here's what i did
this small plant which mainly lives near the top the mountain has an extremely powerful root system that can when old enough and there numbers are strong can almost engulf large parts of the mountain with their roots in its search for food often blocking off mountain passages with their large and many systems

A small Request
Firstly, sorry if i sound too picky but could when you post on the blog make sure the post has appropriate labels? So if you are a programmer, the label would be programming, Mutlimedia would be Multimedia, etc. This just makes this blog more organised so its not one big blob of posts.
Also, this is mainly for the programmers, When you have completed a task/resource it would be awesome if you could put your script/ changes and files onto \\gonzo\ProjectTemp\Eninroth\Resources\Programming. This is so i can put the changes into the final copy of the game and also edit them to our specifications.
Thanks,
Sam

Animals and Vegetation
Here is most of my animal/plant concepts for the game.
First up; a grizzly bear with a bandicoots head. I call it the Bandibear.
The bandibear likes to hang out in the mountains, feeding off small creatures, and burrowing its head in the snow or climbing a tree if it feels threatened.
Next to it is an eagle with a tigers head. It doesn't have a name. It likes to swoop down from great heights and grab whole animals, such as deer. I also have giant kookaburra and wolf designs.
Next up is plants and rocks. Top left of the picture below is a spiky area of grass with a branch. no name as yet.
Below it is what i call a Killer Tail. Inspiration came from a whale's tail.. It waves in the breeze waiting for something to come by. When something does come by, it swings down hard on the target, squashing it. It may leave the prey to set until it feels hungry.
To the Right of Killer Tail is a rock formation with a cave. This probably would be done better in torque with the level design.
Next up is an assortment of trees, and rocks with teeth.
Next is what's called a Spikebomb (working title)
It reacts to being stepped on similar to a landmine. There are stages of evolution, which scale with damage done, Stage 1 being the most lethal.
In its early stages it grows as a hard ball with spikes(in the ground like a pumpkin) , and glows bright blue. After it is ripe, the top peels off and it glows a bright red.
After a few days, roots sprout out of the top of the stage 2 spikebomb and spread a few metres near the original. At the end of these roots, new stage 1 spikebombs are formed to repeat the evolution process.

Grass/small plant
Icy grass or small plant.
live between rocks ect.
Lives off the water in the snow and ice.
blueish tint to make it look like ice.
This is a Humanoid/intelligent Kangaroo concept, Consider them as nomadic possibly cave dwellers in the winter.
The Largest Predator in the Karang Mountains, the Aire Eagle is a terrifying thing to see swoop down on you. large enough to carry off a human, they are wild and free, Using their natural colouration to silently glide down on prey.
A Predatory beast that floats above the ground and Spikes its prey as it gets close.
A Dropbear, a vicious beast that waits for prey to pass under their trees, with huge claws to kick all the other critters of Eninroth asses

Just adding some artwork of my own
Firstly, a pufferfrog. It digs in under the snow to hibernate during the cold winter months, but if disturbed will jump out and puff up, raising all its spikes in defence.
.
Secondly, a lilac possum. Its unusual coat fits in quite well in snowy trees.
And thirdly a tassieroo. This scavenger creature is as at home among trees as it is in rock crevices. Its gaping jaws are very strong and are designed to rip into prey.
Animal Concept.
Progress :)
Well as Josh wanted a Cartoonesque theme for this RPG I began editing the shaders so the game engine itself would look more "Toony"
Let me know what you think.
Also, we need a theme for a unified GUI so if the multimedia guys can come up with some designs then the programmers can put it in then game with ease.
Post your ideas on the blog if possible
Sam
Mages and... Gryphacines?
this week we worked on animal concepts for the game environment i came up with the gryphacine which is basically a gryphon only it has a tasmanian tigers back instead of that of a lion. i have also included some mage concept which i filled in (design by josh) enjoy.

Experience/Stats
http://www.torquepowered.com/community/resources/view/13020
Class System
http://www.torquepowered.com/community/resources/view/18383
Also check out the resources from this guy, he has many cool features that will help us with Inventory, AI and other things
http://www.torquepowered.com/community/resources/view/18457
Anyone has any other programming ideas that they have found come see me or Reuben. We wont bite . Much :)
