im thinking i might add some icicles / mineral-esque formations around the place, very small but just to add to it a little. im glad you like it ::D
awesome! work just a few things could you change the age of the tree to a really old looking one(really fat trunk) also the tree did actually be a tree a long time ago when the mountains were green until the arrival of the Neth god or "big bird" for lack of a real name the creature is also responsible for the creation of the neth and keeping the mountains cold very cold if "big bird" lol were to die the mountains would slowly revert to the greenery it once was. the trees that become large "crystal trees" were sources of magical power in their day due to elvish mages trying to invent ways of gaining control of the untapped power that mother nature has kept a secret... hey what history lesson! :D

i just figured it was one of Altic's antler's broken off and just left to grow, as minerals just contiuously replicate themselves forever, it would have taken millions of years but that would eventually happen, thus creating a physical link to their god.

I think the tree is amazing though, i have to say it again O:
I'm imagining it now slowly flashing backwards and forwards to its blue colour to a pale white, to portray mystical energy. Also that bowl Adam made with the tentacles! if he made a bigger version of that, i mean the size of a lake and had your tree in the middle, that would be pretty epic ;]
i was kind of thinking as an addon to the story in the creation of the crystal tree the Altic was attracted the the trees with a high magical source and made a nest around them for many decades...or centuries the bird infected the area of its presence with its crystals similar to marking its territory after a complete transformation of the tree it would move on to the next one to bathe in its power... over the many years some creatures became exposed to the high levels of concentrated power and they too would become infected like say... the neth. then neth with the most power would have a slight connection to Altic sometimes hearing its thoughts which lead to the creation of a religion after many years.... lol im full of story time still need some more work on the religion bit i think
ReplyDeleteOh so do you mean like an expansion pack, Josh? Or a side quest that diverts away from the primary story and creates and leads onto another story once you have completed all bonus missions ect? and high scores.

ReplyDeleteoh and on the topic of Altic's thoughts being heard, that 'could' help with leading the player about, i was thinking that basically the bird would be breifly seen overhead (flying towards your objective) and you could hear is call as a lightning bolt crashed through the skies. and then eventually, as the game neared the end, high in the mountains, Altic finally lands infront of you and if conveys its thoughts to you and thats how you fully understand what to do.

oh and i had an idea oliver! we should make a lightning and fire bird also, call them zapdos and moltres! yeah?
i thought it was a pretty cools idea :P no one would sue us im sure.. :P

ReplyDeleteAnd with the thoughts conveying through to him via Altic, i had an idea. Altic and the player could possibly be one, connected some how, but it's unexplained for now until the end. And throughout the game your connection grows stronger, your dreams/visions become more vivid, and Altic speaks to you via thought more so, as you get closer ect ect, and you develop powers of your own the further you get , inherited from the Altic. Not too sure, but just suggestiions that can b changed as they see fit ;D
